Helen's 60th Birthday Surprise

After weeks of cunning planning we all surprised Mum with a late birthday party on the 1st November at Sally and Brett's in Auckland. She really had no idea and is still buzzing about it. Sally's catering was first class and James' speech was polished. It was a wonderful day catching up with Helen and Ken's friends from over the years.

North of Taupo, New Zealand

From Taupo we travelled north, stopping over at Bryan and Jo's in Papamoa. Bryan took Josh fishing (and Louise) which Josh is still raving about months later. We played at the beach and swum at the local pools.

We travelled to Mangawhai and enjoyed a few days with Helen and Ken. We checked out the building progress on their new house. Josh tried out eeling again with Paul.

We were back in Auckland in time for Halloween with Sally, Brett, Rose, Annabelle and Jasmine.

Taupo New Zealand

We travelled to Taupo to meet up with our friends from Auckland and Wellington for Labour Weekend (NZ). Staying in a group of cabins at a camping ground has become a tradition for the group. Feeding many mouths (10 adults and 11 children) is always entertaining! Activities included biking, swimming at hot pools and the odd cafe visit.

Josh's Birthday

Josh turned 9 on the 19th October. This year he and Wayne took 2 friends to the movies then home for birthday cake. Thomas, Jack and Josh had a great time.

Andersons in Australia

Mark, Dale, Georgia and Reid came to visit in September/October. They had a birthday party for Georgia at New Farm Park followed by a swim at our place to cool off. The children all enjoyed each-other's company, so did the adults!

Movie World

We joined the Ireland family for a day at Movie World. A great day out was had by all. With a group of 4 adults and 6 kids there is always someone wanting to go on the same ride.

The Superman Rollercoaster goes from zero to one hundred kms in 3 seconds. This put Wayne and Brett off further coasters for the day. Sally and Louise left them in the kids section and did the big kid's rides together.

The kids had fun in August with their cousins coming to stay. We took them to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, city cat ferry, up Mt Coot-tha and bike riding along the river. After a few days with us they travelled to the Gold Coast for theme parks and beaches.
