Odds and Ends

After Ken and Helen left we had 3 more weeks of school holidays to explore Singapore further.

We found the Science and Discovery Centre which was heaps of fun. Hands on activites and a water play park for when you remember the kids togs. So many areas that we joined for a year - we just managed to cover a few things and look forward to going back (much of it is indoors and air-conditioned which is a big plus on hot days!)

We ventured to more parks and playgrounds. Bishan Park is good for bike riding and roller-blades, with a good playground. Pasir Ris is a beach on the north coast looking at Johor. Wouldn't swim there but the best playground in the world. West Coast Park had a great playground too and was going to be good to explore further until a torrential storm saw us completely soaked through.

Charlotte started at a local pre-school two mornings a week at the end of July. She loves it and is making her mark. She is more vocal than the Singaporean children and eats 2 helpings of lunch if they let her.

Joshua and Tessa are loving being back at school. They both have excellent reports from last term and each has the right teacher for their personality and learning style.

Genalyn, our live-in domestic helper, has been with us now for about 6 weeks. It's amazing what a difference she makes.
The children have attended many birthday parties, as the norm here is to invite the entire class. We are getting out and about more in the evenings too.
